Microbattery: Will charge a mobile phone in less than one second

You guys also always think about such a battery which will recharge your mobile in a click. Soon your thinking is going to be true. Invention of such type of microbattery is going on which will recharge your mobile in less than a second. The new microbatteries offer both power and energy, and by tweaking the structure a bit, the researchers can tune them over a wide range on the power-versus-energy scale.

According to the Daily Mail of University of Illinois, scientists have succeeded in developing such type of microbatteries which will be 1000 times more powerful than the present ordinary batteries. Mechanical science and engineering professor William P. King led a group that developed the most powerful microbatteries ever documented.

Scientists believe that in the era of Android and Smartphone such a battery will more effective which will recharge your mobile with in less time. So far the phone are being ?recharge only through lithium-based battery but after the arrival of smartphone, such a batteries are always in need which recharge your phone in less than a second. Lead researcher of University, William King said that this microbattery is going to bring revolution in the coming era. King said that the scientists update the electronic equipment alot in the past ten years but using the same way of traditional batteries charging.

Inspired by Professor Paul Brown Group’s fast charging Cathode design, William King and his associates takes both power and energy to bring together on the micro-scale and this research give rise to microbatteries. King said that the concept of microbatteries will bring revolution in this direction. This battery is based on microtechnology and battery made ??by this concept will prove beneficial to the consumer. Such as Smartphones and Android, mobile battery lasts a very short time. With more applications and facalities, these mobile always get started on the battery in the spare time. So, such a battery is being charged in the second and mobile will work 1000 times faster via it.

With currently available power sources, users have had to choose between power and energy. For applications that need a lot of power, like broadcasting a radio signal over a long distance, capacitors can release energy very quickly but can only store a small amount. For applications that need a lot of energy, like playing a radio for a long time, fuel cells and batteries can hold a lot of energy but release it or recharge slowly.

If you want high energy you can’t get high power; if you want high power it’s very difficult to get high energy. But for very interesting applications, especially modern applications, you really need both. That’s what our batteries are starting to do. We’re really pushing into an area in the energy storage design space that is not currently available with technologies today.

Now, the researchers are working on integrating their batteries with other electronics components, as well as manufacturability at low cost. Medical devices, laser, sensor and other devices will make 1,000 times more effective by using these microbatteries.
